Do your images have depth?
Depth of field (DOF), also called focus range or effective focus range, is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
Change aperture to change your depth of field. This next point is very important, so make sure you understand it before moving on: You increase or decrease the depth of field in your photographs by changing the aperture setting on your camera. Aperture changes are measured in f-stops. To increase depth of field you move closer to the subject or zoom into it. You can also reduce the light on the setup so you can use a wider aperture.
